Dr. Naima Green-Riley is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics and at the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. She is also a Nonresident Fellow with the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab. Naima specializes in Chinese foreign policy, with a focus on public diplomacy and the global information space. Her writing has been published in Security Studies, the Journal of Experimental Political Science (JEPS) and in the 2022 book, The China Questions II (Harvard University Press). It has also appeared in various public-facing outlets, including The Monkey Cage blog at the Washington Post, the Emerging Voices on the New Normal in Asia Series of the National Bureau of Asian Research, The Diplomat, and The Root.
Before pursuing her Ph.D., she was a Pickering Fellow and a Foreign Service Officer at the State Department, and she served in Egypt and China. Naima is a member of the Aspen Strategy Group and a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She was named a 2020 New America Black American Foreign Policy Next Generation Leader and she was selected as a 2021 Fellow in the Public Intellectuals Program at the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations.
