Operations Manager

Description: Foreign Policy for America (FP4A) is a national organization advocating for principled American engagement in the world. Together with our members and partners, we promote sound policies, hold elected officials accountable for their votes and actions, and help elect champions for our values. The Foreign Policy for America family of organizations includes FP Action Network, our federal political action committee, and Foreign Policy for America Foundation, our 501(c)(3) educational arm.

As we enter 2024, we seek an outstanding leader to oversee FP4A operations and support our rapidly growing team. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, service-oriented leader and a model teammate. Previous experience managing hiring processes, administrative systems (e.g., Gusto, TSheets, Sharepoint, EveryAction, GoDaddy), compliance, and/or accounting is preferred but not required.

Compensation: Salary for this position will be commensurate with skills and experience, in the range of 60,000-80,000. Overall compensation includes a highly competitive benefits package, including 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance; 401k program with matching contributions; paid parental leave; unlimited paid time off; and more.

Responsibilities:

• Manage organization-wide processes to recruit, hire, and onboard outstanding new staff as we continue to grow our team
• Coordinate annual strategic planning process and monthly internal reporting, and oversee systems for performance management and reviews
• Oversee the delivery of highly competitive benefits programs that evolve with the needs of our staff members; lead an annual review of FP4A’s benefits and internal policies
• Manage vendor relationships and systems to ensure smooth operations, including for office space, equipment, and software; payroll and timesheets; insurance; and banking.
• Support the Executive Director to ensure compliance and reporting with regard to accounting, legal, and electoral activity-related obligations.
• Coordinate timely grant reporting in collaboration with relevant team members.
• Contribute to organization-wide strategic planning and assist with other duties as assigned.

• 3 years of relevant professional experience. Previous experience managing hiring processes, administrative systems (for example, Gusto, T Sheets, Sharepoint, EveryAction, Go Daddy), compliance, and/or accounting is preferred but not required.

• Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail; the ability to manage multiple initiatives while setting appropriate priorities to achieve goals.
• Commitment to FP4A’s mission of strengthening support for principled American engagement in the world and enthusiasm for the specific work of attracting and supporting a high-performing team to pursue that mission.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
