Washington, DC – In response to reports that the Netanyahu government has approved plans to “occupy and flatten all of Gaza” if no ceasefire deal is reached by May 15, Foreign Policy for America calls on the Trump administration to use all available points of leverage to stop Netanyahu’s catastrophic proposal.
“Netanyahu’s plans to permanently displace the entire population of Gaza and impose an indefinite occupation are horrifying and must be rejected by the U.S. government out of hand,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “Rather than pursue a path that will only lead to more death and destruction, the focus should be on achieving a lasting ceasefire, the release of hostages, and the end to the Israeli government’s two-month blockade of humanitarian aid into Gaza.”
