FP4A Urges President Biden to Call for Immediate Ceasefire in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories

Washington, DC – With the civilian toll continuing to climb, Foreign Policy for America urges President Biden to exercise U.S. leadership and call for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups. In addition to addressing this current cycle of violence and retaliation, the Biden administration’s diplomatic efforts should seize this opportunity to address the root causes of the conflict and finally achieve the equal measures of freedom, dignity, security, and prosperity that Israelis and Palestinians deserve.

“The continued escalation of violence in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories is a terrible tragedy in which there are no winners. The U.S. cannot pretend to stand on the sidelines,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “Now is the moment for the Biden administration to call unambiguously for a cessation of hostilities and to move forward with urgent diplomacy.”
