Foreign Policy for America Statement on Violence in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories

Washington, DC – Foreign Policy for America is deeply concerned by the rapidly escalating violence in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories and is horrified by the growing number of civilians killed and wounded in the current crisis. FP4A also notes with deep alarm the restrictive and destructive measures imposed by Israel in East Jerusalem and riots in mixed Arab and Jewish communities in Israel. Reports of a potential Israeli ground assault on Gaza are equally concerning.

“What we have seen over these last two weeks is heartbreaking — and it points to the need for urgent and courageous diplomacy to achieve that equal measure of freedom, dignity, security, and prosperity for Israelis and Palestinians,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “We urge Israeli and Palestinian leaders to implement an immediate ceasefire and call on the Biden administration to prioritize de-escalation and commit to leading meaningful negotiations aimed at a permanent peace.”
